While it pretty much never happens on G+, over on FB it is fairly common to run into people who still deny evolution. One of the most common arguments wielded against it is the alleged statistical improbability of spontaneous creation of “living” molecules, or abiogenesis. However, the arguments made by the deniers are fraught with massive mischaracterizations or misrepresentations of both biology and/or chemistry. This article on TalkOrigins does a really nice, albeit rather technical, job of deconstructing those arguments.
