When NATIONAL REVIEW Pwns the NEW YORK TIMES on Free Speech We’re All in Trouble

When NATIONAL REVIEW Pwns the NEW YORK TIMES on Free Speech We’re All in Trouble

FOREWORD: The linked article below is SATIRE. The author is not LITERALLY endorsing their own suggestions, they are, rather, using tongue-in-cheek satire to expose the flaw in the argument they’re responding to. Please do not comment on this as if it were a literal argument.

I want to start by saying that even if you think National Review is a right wing rag, which to a degree I do as well (but they are still worth it to keep up with, as one of the higher minded examples thereof), you should read this.

That goes especially if you are one of the people on the political left making the frankly terrifying argument that we need to criminalize ‘Hate Speech’ in defiance of generations of Judicial precedent regarding the 1st Amendment.

When National Review better understands why the left should defecate in their britches at the mere thought of such restrictions than the New York Times, we are in dangerous waters.

Such calls for speech restrictions are especially farcical in light of the triumph of counter-protestors in Boston, proving the battle can be won without giving up liberty for security.

“We have an array of differing views in this country, but I think we can all agree that nobody could be better suited to that oversight role than Jeff Sessions, President Donald Trump, and the thousands upon thousands of state-level Republicans who have been recently swept into office by the infallible will of the people.”
